Could you clarify recommendations regarding antibiotic prophylaxis for puncture to the plantar aspect of the foot through a shoe in pediatric patient? I understand that quinolones are the recommendation for prevention of pseudomonal infection - however, these are typically contraindicated in the pediatric population. What is the recommendation for this group of patients?
