Have you ever gone a week in clinic without seeing a patient with dyspepsia? Some have true structural disease like peptic ulcers or even cancer. Most, however, will end up with no discernible cause of their symptoms and end up with the diagnosis of ‘functional dyspepsia’. In this segment, we review a recent New England Journal of Medicine article on managing this common, yet frustrating, condition.
