CIDP is a bit of a mysterious condition. While it is more common than ALS, it’s underrecognized. It’s an auto-immune mediated condition and has been referred to as chronic Guillain-Barre. Treatments include IVIG, steroids, plasmapheresis and cytotoxic medications.
