This study found that at 12 years, the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass group had improved markers in diabetes, HTN, dyslipidemia compared to the nonsurgical treatment.

Interesting that the first non-surgery group did not receive standard of care (ie were not referred specifically to coaching or lifestyle intervention like nutrition visits.)

Also, why report weight as opposed to BMI differences at baseline between groups? It's available in the appendix.
