We start with spirometry diagnosis, discuss updates in the recent guidelines and then move into medical management.  We cover the proper use of LABAs, the emerging role of leukotriene receptor antagonists as add on therapy, on demand inhaled corticosteroid therapy, and emerging treatments for asthma.

The eformoterol - budesonide (symbicort) has the advantage that eformoterol is much faster acting so can be used for acute asthma sudden shortness of breathe wheeze and cough .
Salmeterol takes longer for peak bronchodilation .
The prices are unbelievably high compared to Australia Britain New Zealand and Europe .
Wrong Very Wrong for a land as wealthy as the USA .
