Dr. Feranmi Okanlami was an orthopedic surgery resident at Yale when he dove into a swimming pool and sustained a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. He shares his story and what he has learned about living with a disability, both as a physician and as a patient. He aims to disabuse our notions of what disability means.
